Privacy Policy
TRAKL is built around a simple idea: your habits, finances, sleep logs, and everything else you track should stay on your device. We do not run a backend that stores your personal data.
This policy explains what TRAKL does with information and what stays on your phone. It applies to the TRAKL mobile app (iOS and Android) and the web version.
TRAKL is developed by Pimora. If you have questions about this policy, email us at info@pimora.tech.
What TRAKL stores on your device
Almost everything you enter in TRAKL is saved locally on your phone or browser. That includes:
- Tracker entries (habits, tasks, goals, planner items, sleep, fitness, mood, water, weight, meditation, and custom trackers)
- Your profile name, avatar, and app preferences (language, theme, notification settings)
- Streaks, achievements, and weekly review summaries
This data is stored using on-device storage (AsyncStorage on mobile, localStorage on web). We do not upload it to our servers because we do not operate user data servers for TRAKL.
Financial data
Finance tracker entries are treated as sensitive. On iOS and Android, they are stored in the device Keychain or Keystore through encrypted secure storage. On web, they are stored in your browser's local storage. We recommend using TRAKL on web only over HTTPS.
What we do not collect
- No account registration or login
- No cloud sync of your tracker data
- No advertising SDKs or third party ad networks
- No automatic upload of your backups
Crash reporting (optional)
On iOS and Android, TRAKL may send anonymous crash reports to Sentry if crash reporting is enabled in a given build. These reports help us fix bugs. They do not include your tracker entries. Crash reporting is only active when a Sentry configuration is present in the production build.
Web preview analytics
The web version of TRAKL does not run analytics in normal use. PostHog session recording may only activate when the app is loaded inside a specific preview iframe with analytics parameters in the URL. Regular users browsing the app directly are not tracked this way.
Notifications
TRAKL schedules reminders locally on your device. We do not send push notifications from a server. Notification content is generated on your phone based on your settings and tracker data.
Backup and restore
You can export your TRAKL data as a JSON or CSV file and import it later. Export and import happen entirely on your device. You choose where to save the file (Files app, email, cloud drive, etc.). We never receive your backup files unless you send them to us yourself.
Deleting your data
You can delete all TRAKL data from the Profile screen in the app. Uninstalling the app also removes locally stored data from your device. Because we do not store your data on our servers, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
Your rights (GDPR and similar laws)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK, or another region with similar privacy laws, you have rights to access, correct, delete, and restrict processing of personal data. Because TRAKL stores data locally, you can exercise most of these rights directly in the app.
Contact us at info@pimora.tech if you need help exercising your rights. We will respond within a reasonable time.
Children
TRAKL is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through TRAKL, contact us and we will help you remove it from the device.
Security vulnerabilities
If you discover a security issue in TRAKL, please report it responsibly to security@trakl.app rather than opening a public issue. See our SECURITY.md for details.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when TRAKL's features or legal requirements change. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of TRAKL after changes means you accept the updated policy.
